The luckiest guy on earth...

I'm loving this blog already! It's been such a long time since I've chronicled my life online for others to read about (crazy stalkers), but I'm so thrilled to be able to share my NEW life with my NEW family of two!

DeLancey and I are excited beyond belief that we'll be getting married next weekend! (I mean...you are excited...right DeLancey?)

It's rather funny...everyone that I have spoken to recently has found it strange that I've had no nervous thoughts about this life changing event. Well...the nervousness finally made its grand appearance today...

Earlier today, Donnie (the officiating pastor and my best friend/best man's dad), emailed us a copy of the "script" for the wedding! I was overwhelmed with joy, excitement, butterflies, and a ton of other emotions when I got to the vows. I even caught myself giggling at one point. Do I really get to spend the rest of my life with this amazing woman? I never knew that God had created someone as amazing as DeLancey Kennedy Dantzler (soon to be CARSON) - and to think that He created her to accompany me for the rest of my life on this earth?!?! Say what!?!?! GOD IS GREAT!!!

Here I sit, ten days from the big day, and all I can think about is how lucky I am that someone as beautiful and godly and passionate and intelligent and talented as DeLancey would want to share the rest of her life with a big ogre like me. ;-) She's way out of my league...and I'm totally ok with that (let's just hope she never figures that out). :-P

DeLancey,
these last ten months have been the most amazing months of my life! I have no doubt in my mind that God has created you with me in mind. I've done absolutely nothing to deserve the gift of your love...but God has entrusted me with your life; therefore, I will do my very best to...

...express my love for you daily through speech and actions.

...trust that God will enable me to provide for all of your needs.

...lead you through rough waters and protect you from harm.

...cherish every moment that God gives us (even if he calls us to be missionaries in the mountains of Alaska).
;-P

...lead you closer to Christ through daily prayer and worship (whether it's singing loudly in the car, reading and studying scripture, or just being active in the church and our community)

"Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!"
(Psalm 34:3 ESV)

This last season of our lives has been so great...but...the best it yet to come!!!

Front Door Redo

As soon as we knew that we would be staying in the house that Tim and his roommates are currently renting (we're kicking them out of course - don't worry, they all have places to go), I knew that I wanted to do a front door makeover. It had obviously been stained quite a while ago and weather was not kind to it. You could run your finger along it and chunks of stain would flake off. Not to mention the kickplate was so dirty that Brass-O didn't help at all. This is the door after I'd already started sanding the left side...

Old, old stain...

The poor door was begging for a makeover...

Plus, I had been dying to make a wreath with a C for Carson. ;-) Some burlap and a twig wreath from Hobby Lobby and a few hours later...

Aaaaaaaand, the finished door. :-D

One of the burlap rosettes was lovingly chewed by Rylie (our yellow lab) but it makes it personal. Rosettes were made my cutting burlap into strips and then hot gluing a ton until it looked like I wanted it to. Tim was the one that suggested to two burlaps behind the C to make it stand out more. Gosh, I like him a lot. And I just spray-painted the kickplate an antique brass color. The stain for the door was Antique Walnut Gloss. Looks pretty nice, huh? And don't worry, I took down the wreath when I left so the current roommates wouldn't have to see it each day. But as soon as I move to Milledgeville that sucker is going up to stay! (Or at least until I get bored of it and make something else...)

A life about to begin...

Tim and I are getting married in 11 days and 7.5 hours. Say what?!?! SO. EXCITED. Anyways, we decided to make a blog to keep people updated on our life! I'm hoping to post home improvement updates, projects we take on together, amazing pictures that Tim takes, things that Rylie chews on (she's already "helped" my new wreath I made), and other tidbits from our life together. Maybe we'll even include some of the awesome things that God is going to teach us through this new season of life!

The Epic Carsons are about to begin...
